abstract = "This work aims to perform an exploratory analysis about the
influence of factors, such as precipitation and presence of high
and low intra-urban vegetation cover, in the dynamics of dengue
fever in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Data of dengue fevers cases,
reported from January 2007 to March 2008, and entomological data
collected in June 2008 were used in the present work. In order to
extract the intra-urban vegetation, images of CBERS-2B sensors,
CCD and HRC (20m and 2,5m of spatial resolution, respectively)
were processed using IHS Transformation, create an hybrid image of
2,5m spatial resolution. After that this hybrid image was process
using IHS transformation create three components (I, H, S). The
component H (matiz) was process using classification (Maxver),
generating a land use map with five class: forest, water,
intra-urban vegetation, shadow, urban area. The exploratory
analysis showed that the months of high incidence of dengue fever
coincided with high precipitation rates recorded in that city.
Dengue fevers distribution occurrence showed no socioeconomic
boundaries, reaching rich and poor areas as Copacabana, Urca and
Cidade de Deus, Gard{\^e}nia. Areas with high vegetation cover
showed low infestation of Aedes aegypti.",
